Firstly
We all know that whilst we as writers may follow rules, our characters don't always abide by them. Which means as long as you yourself follow rules set out for you, ( Fighting and claiming rules, general behavior things ) then your character is free to set fire to them.
General
Im not going to go on and on in this section. Im sure you are all old pros at this by now so I hardly need to spell out things, like no god moding and non realistic characters. This is a reasonably realistic RPG so no polka dots and wings.
In house we have the ability to purchase or win items that add an unusual making or unusual eye colour to our horses. This may only be done to foals born on site no horse may be created with them.
Scribe permission must be granted before you force breed / force claim.
ALL Images must have correct credits on them. If you are using a reference image make sure you only post the link not the image itself If we see this rule being ignore the image will be deleted and if its continued warnings will be issues.
Fighting
Official fights - For royalty and land are do be done in the Arena All non official fights can be carried out in any land. The usual egotistical male brawls can be held anywhere. - If a fight is carried out in a land marked * No Fighting then your character is likely to receive some bad karma in the form of a natural disaster in his land or knee injuries so on. The punishment will be listed in the surprise and disaster board. This allows your characters to break the rules, but also means there is punishments involved.
Prior to an Official fight you must message a moderator of choice and the player you are fighting. Rules are to be carried out in a thread either in "The Arena" or land of choice, however they must be agreed on by both parties. If terms can not be agreed on a Moderator will be called in to decide, the mod is most likely to side with the person being challenged.
The moderator of the challengers choice will then judge the fight. You can appeal a decision but you would want a good reason as to why.
Each member ( not character ) may only challenge for land twice per one real life month.
Breeding
Breeding can be carried out anywhere, force breeding can not be carried out in lands marked * No force breeding Unless you have the other characters permission - Even then just as in the *No fighting rule, both characters are likely to receive some bad in game karma.
Your character must have been in a recent thread together prior to the breeding to have happened. You can post in the Breeding board to state that your characters have bred. Then you must post in bleeding hearts after one week has passed, but no longer than three weeks.
No graphic breeding, the breeding of two horses will not be Rped out on the boards. If you simply feel that you have to RP it out, then take it to messages.
Breeding can happen at any time. However foals born in Winter will have a much higher chance of being unhealthy / still born.
Once the breeding has occurred, you get to wait a WHOLE week. Once that week is up and no time before hand, then you may post in Bleeding Hearts. Use the form provided in thread with the sire and dams stats. Admin will get around to it as soon as humanly possible.
Your foal will be decided on by a mod using a formula and dice. If you would like to read more about how we decide on foal stats, it is all explained in here. Click
Land
Stallions MUST have a minimum of three horses within his herd at all times to keep and own a land ( at least two must be mares ). Foals under the age of two do not count as a number in that herd. However they belong to that herd till they have been freed or ask permission to leave.
Herd members are controlled by the lead stallion. It is up to the stallion in charge how he wishes to exercise that power.
Lead stallions are controlled by the king of that region.
If the land has been inactive for 14 days then you may claim it by default without having to challenge for it. Simply post the lead change and wish to wipe that board clear in the Updates section.
If the herd drops down to only two members then it becomes unclaimed once more.
If the lead is active ( unless they have posted in the away board ) then you will have to challenge for it. The usual fight rules as written above apply.
If the lead does not respond to the challenge within six days then he has forfeited and the land is yours. ( Check first that the person hasn't posted in the away boards )
Claiming and Stealing
Claiming may be done in all the lands, the lands marked * No force claiming are out of bounds, unless you have permission from the characters owner.
Any Stallion over the age of three may claim horses. They do not have much control over their mares however.
Once a claim has been made then that horse belongs to the herd and its lead. The lead has the power to hold it till it sees fit.
A rival stallion may chose to fight to steal a horse. He may do this in one of a few ways. He could, - Start a challenge ( this would need to be done in the Arena ) - Climb the stairs and write a poem. The Poem must consist of at least four clues about the horse he is stealing. - Steals may only be done by stallions, they do not have to be lead stallions. The mare now belongs to the new stallion, his hold over her isn't as strong as a stallion who owns land is however.
Royals
There are three royals, one for each land. ( One for Sen Cai, Till Adore and Mahie )
Royals have complete control over there domain including the lands within it. Their word is law and they play god. They may not be able to kill your character but they can wound them, they can remove them from there lands completely and decide who claims land or who doesn't claim land at all.
The royal position may only be challenged for / claimed by stallions who currently own land within that section. So to claim Till Adore you must first have claimed and be living in a herd land within Till Adore for one game season before claiming the kingship. At this point you would move your herd into the royal lands, and your old land will be put up for claim once more.
Royals only need two members in his herd at any given time to keep his land and position. However all the above land rules apply to him.
Bachelor Herds
Horses that do not own land may band together. When a bachelor herd has 7 or more members then they may settle in a open land of their choice. They may not however claim that land and control who comes and goes. They do have a certain say over the rules in that land though. As soon as their members drop to below 7 they can no longer claim that land as their own. They have as much control over there herd as a normal land owner does.
